Successfully installed my Brother HL-1440 via USB cable. Strangely, the
computer(T400) also detects my Brother wireless printer through the
router. I cannot use my wireless card, the Intel 5100, however, to
connect the computer, strange.
But, now I have printing in my ArcaOS/2 install. Just wish that new
printers would be showing up in the supported list, thank God, I still
had my mint-condition HL-1440.

Not strange at all. Obviously, the printer has WiFi support, which
connects to the router. The WiFi in the computer doesn't have working
wiFi support, so it cannot connect to the router using WiFi. You would
be detecting the printer because your computer has a wired connection
to the router, and that may work, if CUPS supports it without special
drivers.

ArcaOS uses CUPS (from Apple) to support newer printers. Some printers
need specialized drivers, which are not available to OS/2 users, so
they will probably never be supported. Otherwise, anything that Apple
supports will work in OS/2 (usually with a time lag as the support is
ported).

Personally, I have found that HP WiFi printers work well, and they
have the added advantage that you can scan (assuming a built in
scanner) using the built in web page support (that only works with
network attached printers).
