Dosbox 7.4 question

I realize there is a chatter interface to Dosbox but Ihave a short question
I'd rather post here in that when I pull up the Dosbox official site there is
no OS/2 documentation for the 7.4 version that was just posted into the Hobbs
site.

Over a year or so ago I downloaded the older version and did some
experimentation with it to see if I could possiby get around the lack of high
memory DOS window memory for some of the industrial board relay rack systems I
have been testing. They will not let me access the EMS/XMS memory because the
BIOS chip memory on the 'motherboard' for the 2K OS/2 uses for it with them
contaminates the jump memory spot for connection to EMS memory. As well, I ran
into an issue where I could not use Dosbox because it didn't work with .BAT
files that I needed for the total program operations I need. Only a single
given DOS program seemed to be acceptable.

OK, the 7.4 version for OS/2 was posted a few days ago. But I can't remember
how I put the whole thing together from fact that both the older and the new
7.4 version are .EXE files.

How do I 'update' to this new version? Do I copy it into the directory of the
old setup I have and just execute the .EXE file? If so, would that mean that
I'll overwrite all the control and .BAT files I have for testing?

I'd appreciate being taught again how to do this here. Thank you!

It's a Warpin executable. Execute it and it will start Warpin then use
Warpin to install it beside your old install, eg perhaps move your old
install to dosbox.old then install to dosbox and copy over your control
and .BAT files, test and if happy perhaps delete the old install.

Wonderful, it's fun to be warped in to things, grin! I'll copy the original
directory into a clone on another 'drive', and see what happens. Thanks!

OK I did that. It did not change my dosbox.conf. I never noticed this
before, but now after I opened up the 'window' object, my final DOS memory
report only shows:

Z:\mem

604 Kb free conventional memory
58 Kb free upper memory in 2 blocks (largest UMB 49 Kb)
0 Kb free expanded memory

My 'normal' use of this is 8MB EMS memory and 2MB XMS memory for such things.
And in this case, in this particular fully functional OS/2 MCP2 latest for a

Long Description: DOSBox 0.74 (2010/06/14)

That is what it shows in the read-me text file that was included for the
upload into the Hobbs site.
